Spending summers on his Grandparents' farm, "Conservation Mike" Echterling learned about caring for animals…all animals — the fish in the river; the deer and squirrels in the wood; the rabbits and pheasants out in the fields; and the cows, pigs and chickens on the farm. Mike also learned to care for the land and the waterways. It is how he was raised... it's not just something he does, it is who he is. Teaching kids and people about the outdoors, has become his priority and the Region Bass Buzz is a great opportunity to do that. Mike always says "I'm no expert, I'm just paying attention". Growing up without air conditioning, Mom always told us to "GO OUTSIDE!"
